Sweden grants citizenship to highest percentage of foreign nationals - OECD Study Finds

According to the 2018 International Migration Outlook published by the OECD, foreign nationals residing in Sweden are most likely to gain citizenship. In Sweden, 7.8% of foreign nationals gained citizenship in 2015-16. The recently released statistics also show that 8 European countries feature in the top 10 when it comes to granting citizenship to foreign nationals (the other 2 countries being the US and New Zealand). In total, just 8 countries had a rate of 3% or over with the overall OECD average being just 2.4%.

With regards to the nationality of individuals gaining citizenship in other countries, Indians were the highest ranking, followed by natives of Morocco, the Philippines and China. However, interestingly the naturalisations of both Chinese and Moroccan nationals both declined by 15% during the year in question.
